If you are a typical fashion addict and are periodically following runway shows of the most outstanding brands, then I bet you will never ever fail to identify the glorious and on-of-a-kind style of the Serbian positive designer, Roksanda Ilincic, which has become tangible through her eponymous brand collections. Evidently, Roksanda has a strong emotional appeal towards the fashion trends of the folk style popular back in the 1970s. As she frequently puts it herself, while creating her masterpieces she is greatly inspired by that period of time. Pronouncing the brand name “Roksanda Ilincic”, the first features that come to our mind are warm, bright colors, positive energy, flaring details and geometrical patterns. That is why Roksanda Ilincic dresses are so quick at keeping up our spirits. The Serbian spirit in the background of conservative London looks pretty effective and inspiring. Additionally, the brand’s growing success is not that much surprising. After all, Roksanda has been the graduate of the best art school in London, Central St Martin’s along with Stella McCartney, Alexander McQueen and John Galliano.
The year of 2015 is remarkable not only for Roksanda, but also for the brand’s faithful fans, since the brand has been inspiring them already for 10 years. Such fashionable celebrities as Halle Berry, Eva Mendes, Jessica Simpson, Sharon Stone, Nicole Kidman and many others are giving their preference to these sunny pieces. The enthusiastic Serbian designer is celebrating the brand’s 10th anniversary by launching a special collection named “10 Years, 10 Dresses”, which includes top 10 her favorite evening dresses from the previous collections. She is especially passionate about reviving the so popular Margot dress from her SS 2012 fashion line, which stands out with its lantern sleeves and, of course, her signature vivid color of coquelicot red. The collection brings us a range of jaw-dropping dresses that now and then take us away to historical palaces, where the pretty women couldn’t do without floor-length exquisite dresses. But in contrast to them, the Roksanda dresses are rich in the brightest colors and the craziest combinations possible – the pink of Persian rose, shimmering black, the combination of deep sky blue and hemlock green, the mixture of crimson with navy blue and cream, as well as that of navy blue with grey and pink. All these stunning ensembles will be available at Harvey Nichols, the British department store. The collaboration will be beyond doubt mutually beneficial. On the one hand Harvey Nichols will attract thousands of Roksanda Ilincic fans, while on the other hand the Roksanda Ilincic pieces will undeniably catch the attention of Harvey Nichols frequenters.
Let us hope that Roksanda Ilincic’s 10th anniversary celebration will have its logical continuation. Maybe she will follow in Alexander Wang’s footsteps by organizing a charity campaign, but most likely she will generate fresh new creative ideas to make the 10th anniversary unforgettable and unusual.
