Lottie Moss, Kate Moss’ 18-year-old half-sister, makes her catwalk debut by walking for the Sonia Rykiel fall/winter 2015-2016 collection alongside Gigi Hadid, Lizzy Jagger and Georgia May Jagger on the Paris Fashion Week runway. This type of honour is kept only for the crème de la crème of society and the littlest Moss is no exception. The runway show itself was an intriguing one, with the fashions positively magnificent and the setting perfect for the schoolgirl turned librarian theme going on. The library shelves behind and the setting of the lighting made the show all the more intriguing, what with the short skirts and thigh high socks, the long, calf length coats and the black and white stripes all around. There was a rather surreal component to the whole thing as well, with the silver metallic pants and skirts appearing within the first batch of outfits, though we have our eyes set on that loose fitting fluffy navy blue sweater that actually looked really nice with the flared silver futuristic pants and the black leather satchel thrown over her shoulder. The metallic zing turns into soft velvet soon enough though and the full-bodied jumpsuit with the black velvet jacket and the cropped pants screams chic all unto itself.
The whole Sonia Rykiel fall/winter 2015-2016 collection is a combination of chic and fun, classic and futuristic combined. It looks as if Sonia Rykiel hopes to tap into all types of fetishes, from the college girl to the librarian, the futuristic diva and the sexy socialite. Speaking of sexy socialites, the beautiful fur coat with the brown, black and grey strips melded together in perfect patterning looks amazing when thrown over the high waist stark white pants with the 5 buttons in black and the flared hems that cover the shoes worn underneath fully. It is a great look for any woman, who wants to appear fashionable and wealthy at the same time, without overdoing it. High ruffled collars and pinstripe pantsuits make it onto the carpeted runway and give us a rather interesting new idea for professional attire, while the check black, grey and white outfit with the thigh high velvet boots, the mini skirt underneath and the matching top with its vest have us thinking sexy but chic schoolgirl.
The college schoolgirl style outfits also extend to suede pieces in camel, with matching jacket and mini skirt to a mix and match of a suede skirt with a zigzag patterned coat and lacy velvet top tucked in. The socks are either low on the ankle or high up to the knees, while the beige shoes do wonders for the look overall. Lacy velvet extends into dresses as well, wherein we have a small keyhole slit on the neckline, striped see-through arms and a dress that falls to the ankle before finishing off with black socks and pretty heels. Those keyhole slits are not always small either, sometimes extending down to the abdomen as in the last piece that features horizontal stripes, metallic silver additions and a halter top maxi dress design. Interesting to say the least, but the Sonia Rykiel fall/winter 2015-2016 collection is probably one of the best seen on the runway yet.
