Tibi Resort 2018 Collection

The latest Resort 2018 Collection by Tibi is all about the pragmatic design. Amy Smilovic, the designer behind the brand, perfectly understands the customer’s necessity for wearable and comfortable designs. Rather than presenting avant-garde and extravaganza like most of the brands did for their Resort 2018 collections, Amy opted for simplicity and practicality.

In the last couple of years, Tibi has been all about the color. For the Resort 2018 collection, Amy virtuously added new shades and mixed them together. Most of the outfits from this collection are two color outfits. Just when we taught that we won’t see prints in this collection, Amy surprised us with a vibrant, color-blocking stripes on stripes outfit that is a perfect blend of five colors.

As most designers and brands, Tibi also presented asymmetric skirts and dresses.

Speaking of skirts and dresses, Amy’s designs are definitely made for women who don’t want to compromise their comfort.

Most of the creations have a loose fit and assure a great comfort. Only a couple designs accent the waist with wide waist corset belts and loose lacing.

For all the fashion-forward business women, Tibi made the perfect pastel double breasted suits in pale pink and baby blue.

For the first time ever, Tibi included hoodies in their collection. It seems that Amy Smilovic thought of everything:

“We spent a lot of time figuring out what a Tibi hoodie should look like. Our customer isn’t wearing a giant sports hoodie to the office, but we do have a lot of West Coast tech girls,” the designer said.

The designer decided to use blended fabrics for this collection for practical reasons. Blended fabrics are more durable than silk, for example. The brand’s goal was to make designs that people could wear everywhere they go.

“If this dress was 100 percent silk, you’d never sit down in it on the subway, but in this blend, you feel like you can live your life in it,” Amy explained.

Denim pieces are also present in the Resort 2018 collection in many forms. From loose high-waisted jeans to matching skirt and jacket and denim dress with corset belt, all the pieces are with a simple design and comfortable to wear.

The entire collection is on the relaxed side with just enough structure and draping that brings a refreshing vibe. Models predominantly wore flats and mid-heels that perfectly complimented the comfort that the clothing collection offers.
