Tommy Hilfiger Opening A Boutique Hotel

Back in 2014, Tommy Hilfiger dropped $70 million to purchase the Raleigh Hotel located in South Beach Miami with the intention of creating an exclusive hotel experience for paying members. The designer emphasized that this expansion is not a part of his fashion brand, but rather a personal project. Because of this, it is important to realize the signature themes and motifs of the brand won’t necessarily be a part of Tommy Hilfiger’s hotel at all. Hilfiger, as a designer and businessman, is expanding beyond the fashion industry but the Tommy Hilfiger label is still as strong as ever.

Tommy Hilfiger Opening A Boutique Hotel

Before being purchased by Hilfiger, the Raleigh Hotel had 109 rooms, and the designer will be bringing that number down to create space for more member accommodations. It will be a boutique hotel with 88 rooms that are notably larger than those of the original Raleigh, as well as a health club, a spa, and a restaurant. Those who pay the annual membership fee will be given priority, allowing them a broad choice of room and personal amenities.

As far as the actual membership fee is concerned, there have been no official statements, although Hilfiger did express interest in charging more than Soho Beach House, which has a fee of $2000. Naturally you’ll have to spend a pretty penny to stay in such a luxurious location, so there is really no surprise as far as price point is concerned.

Of course, it will still be quite some time before members can file into the system. Renovations to make this boutique hotel concept a reality won’t be initiated until the end of 2016. Even then, those involved in the process have estimated these alterations could take upwards of 18 months. So, it’s not likely this will even be a possibility until 2018. Until then, however, the Tommy Hilfiger hotel is still available to make reservations. You can book a room for prices starting at $435 a night, but as this is only the pre-renovation cost, and prices will only continue to increase as the hotel is redesigned and rejuvenated.

Even still, the now-hotelier isn’t looking to stop here. There are plans in the works for expansions beyond this, in other cities around the world. “If you look at LA, Aspen, New York, London, these are also great cities for us, and if and when we get the right locations we will expand into the cities.”

It is definitely something to keep your eyes peeled for; even though the first hotel won’t open for business for the next two years or so, there will be enthralling updates along the way, no doubt.
