Tory Burch Pre-Fall 2015 Collection

As the 79th most powerful woman according to Forbes, Tory Burch is one amazing fashion designer who has won multiple awards for her ingenuous work within the industry. The American businesswoman has created a label that has driven her net worth to a billion dollars. Just as all the major brands have come up with their pre-fall 2015 collections at this point, so has Tory Burch, taking her inspiration from Carnaby Street in the ‘60s, along with the whole hippie scene and the original take on what later became the classic rock ‘n’ roll. There’s the prim and proper combined with the free-spirited designs seen within the Tory Burch pre-fall 2015 collection, including everything from the short shorts and tailored jackets to the miniskirts and the paisley dresses. Large, flashy jewelry accents are as much a part of the collection as the palette of brown and oranges. “A lot of the girls back then were taking their boyfriend’s clothing and making it work in a elegant way,” states the designer. Tory Burch has taken the moulded peacoats and bombers and treated them with techy, bonded fabrics and plaids that offer a lighter graphic feel. We’ve got the softness of poor-boy knots, a whole lot of suede piece and more or less fluid prints.

A white knit sweater with a turtleneck that fits loosely is often a fall or winter staple found in most closets. They don’t normally include black checker designs with tassel endings though. Plaid skirts remind us of our private or catholic school days when we would them up at the waist to bring up the hem as much as possible. The combination of plaid skirt and white checker sweater, along with a white pair of flats with little bows and a matching white and grey handbag is actually pretty attractive. These pieces are definitely worth purchasing.

A caramel colored plaid coat is certainly one to remind us of English private boarding schools, complete with the matching skirt, the shiny brown ankle boots and the mahogany satchel bag. There’s something to be said about bringing back the schoolgirl look, this time without adding the torture or blessing (depending on how you look at it) of lectures and strict curfews. Down to the shirt buttoned to the neck, this style is certainly one we are looking forward to seeing on the streets.

Plaids, schoolgirl uniforms and a rebellious streak combine to create this magnificent masterpiece of short shorts in maroon, white and grey plaid with black lining, a white and black check scarf and burgundy ankle boots to seal the deal. There’s something rather attractive about the rebellious schoolgirl and that sleek sexiness is being toned down but added to with a pinch of fierce determination to achieve this lovely look.

Those short shorts look even better with looser matching sweaters in the same color and pretty little ankle-strapped Betty shoes to show off long legs and lots of skin. The balance is held well here since there is little to no skin shown at the top, it is only right to increase the amount exposed on the legs.

Of course, the Tory Burch pre-fall 2015 collection won’t leave us hanging in the sexier outerwear department and that is where the pretty wide-rimmed felt hat to top off the belted mini dress comes in, completed with lower heeled print shoes. The look is complemented with a more modern style of an olden gaudier necklace, really blending in with the dress in snake print. It certainly does look stunning and the right body can pull off this look any day.

What’s a student without a teacher? The long dress really brings out the prim and proper governess look while bringing the old concept into the 21st century. The shimmering dress is belted with gilded and embellished mahogany velvet, while the ankle boots and handbag are also made in the same color, albeit not the exact same shade. Adding a single accent necklace that’s atypical to the 19th century schoolteacher is a lovely bonus that adds personality to the midi skirted rather innocent look.

Of course, while prim and proper may be the basis, so is the free spirit of a woman, which is where the pattered shirt buttoned to the neck and high waist midi skirt come in. While the colors are more muted and tend to border on chromes instead of silvers, the ankle-strapped shoes at low heel height adding to the attractiveness of the style, one cannot help but think that this proper girl’s got sass with her class.

What’s a collection without an evening gown selection? This gorgeous paisley dress skims the ground and shows off a flattering silhouette due to its A-line. The pretty blue cashmere jacket over the dress should be enough to keep a gal warm all night long while also covering up bare shoulders and a hint of cleavage. Instead, the demure look is quite certainly one to be coveted since it is as lovely as it is free-spirited in design.
