For so many of us, spring means that the festivals will soon begin, from the Coachella and Vermont Chili Festival to the Campfire Festival, the South by Southwest Festival in Texas and the St. Patrick’s Festival around the corner. From Film Festivals to Jazz events, Blues in Pennsylvania and the American Dance Fest, we know that we are going to be attending at least a few throughout the next few months, needing a wardrobe to match. That’s where Urban Outfitters comes in, the American multinational clothing corporation that is so very much loved by the younger populations and all those, who want really pretty pieces of clothing for very affordable pricing.
In preparation for the coming festival season, the company has come up with a new collection and just released the official Urban Outfitters “Field Dazed” festival 2015 lookbook, with perfect timing. It features models Charlotte Jane, Isabelle Cornish, and Delilah, all of whom are young and bright eyed, looking for the next big adventure and without a care in the world. They are certainly living the bohemian chic lifestyle, their eyes glued to the music festivals and the days on the open fields with a picnic basket and lavish hot dog stands all around. They look great in everything they wear but we really have to wonder… are those micro shorts again? While the underwear as outerwear concept might have been nixed from the fashion trends this year, we have seen a few of the high waist micro shorts appear on the runway, generally underneath sheer dresses or as part of a ballet themed collection. Apparently we are going to have beachwear as part of the regular daily wardrobe as well this year though, at least according to Urban Outfitters.
We have to say, most of these looks are perfect for teenagers, for those crop tops with the halter straps certainly don’t have any space to fit in a full bust. For those 16 year olds still growing into their womanly bodies, however, they come in handy, matched with high waist denim mini short hemmed shorts, and woven brimmed hats, completed with mid-calf striped socks and white ankle height sneakers.
Lacy embroidered crop tops underneath overalls are certainly in for the season and look really good too. Add suede backpacks to the ensemble though and you are perfectly matching the 1970s vibe that has been the biggest inspiration for the year, particularly the first half, though the fall/winter runway shows have offered us lots of 70s style choices as well. Leather and suede materials are total must-haves, while that hair color is certainly reminding us that Game of Thrones is soon to start! The overalls come in black and white as well, which is a major trend for the year, particularly the fall and winter seasons to come.
White dresses, along with the white tops all around, are a huge staple of the festival season, giving us pretty ladies a fun and flirty look to enjoy.
