It’s the end of the month of September, so it makes sense that some designers and retailers will place their focus on the end of the coming month, particularly the whole Halloween theme. Spooky elements, crazy witches, ghosts and zombies, monsters and tacky strippers can be expected. Of course, when we have such a gruesome, frightening and utterly fun occasion coming up, despite the fact that the latest celebrations have nothing to do with All Hallow’s Eve, it makes sense that we would want to dress up to mark the much anticipated time of the year, and the latest Wildfox Couture Halloween 2015 lookbook comes in handy to this end.
Wildfox is one of the designer retailers that is putting the trick in the treat and getting ready to celebrate in fashion. We see everything from t-shirts to sweaters, hoodies and overalls, along with a whole slew of different looks. It is quite interesting to find pieces that make life easier when thinking about which costume to dress in, for what else would you wear but a tee with the words “costume” emblazoned in front. Model Ellie Leith sure makes it all look great, what with the witchy makeup and the slogan of “she shone brightest upon nightfall” kept firmly in mind. She appeared in the imaged shot at a graveyard wearing pieces of clothing which read everything from “Bad Witch” with a broken heart symbol to “I’m the Treat” to phrases such as “Just Here for the Boos” in all, really having fun with the holiday season. There were shirts with cat eyes poking through that we can imagine lasting you all year, worn fluttering about in the summer more so than during the fall. The Victorian style of the sleeves certainly are inspiring, while the frilly micro shorts underneath remind us of olden panties worn by the aristocracy.
The beautiful blonde looked leggy throughout, showing off high platform sandals worn with frilly lace socks reaching up to the ankles. She looked nice and leggy in a t-shirt dress as well, with the words “Full Moon, Black Cat, Magic Spell, Vodka Tonic” spelled out on the chest, a rather pretty and warm-looking fur jacket thrown over her shoulders and large sunglasses shielding her from the UV rays. We have to admit, she looked too much at home among the field of mushrooms, looking like a pixie brat with magical powers awaiting to bring men to their doom.
Shirts with skeletons on them are scary enough without all the witchiness we see afterwards. Though we have to say it is nice to see a white outfit with a lace skirts and a sweater on top spelling out “Good Witch” with a pretty pink heart on it. After all, darkness exists only because there is light and vice versa. One cannot exist without the other, just as the good cannot exist without the bad. We love the multi-layered skirt in the bright aqua blue over white most, especially with the grey cat eye hoodie overhead. The beauty of it is that there are cat ears on the hood as well!
