American recording artist, songwriter, record producer, fashion designer, and directing founder of record label GOOD Music, Kanye Omari West brings us something to spend the next month talking about – himself! His new album called “Waves”, or “SWISH” in its original manner, is set to be released along with Yeezy Season 3, both simultaneously, on the first official day of the New York Fashion Week.
Forget about the fashions baby, Yeezy is back in town! Tickets for the event are expected to go on sale on Wednesday (for presale tickets – the actual masses will have access from January 29, this Friday), while the actual show will occur on February 11, in a massive event staged at Madison Square Garden. The show will also be broadcasted live in various theatres around New York, so if you are in town, do not forget to check in at that point, making yourself available for a few hours from 4 pm onwards. It may be a Thursday, but that just means early happy hour to you! Plus, those in the United Kingdom are also in for a treat as Vue Cinemas has begun selling tickets for the show’s live stream.
Usually we see at least one if not a few more of Kanye West’s newest songs debuting during the Fashion Week. It is a common occurrence all right. But it is the first time a whole album will be released at the same time, in its entirety, proclaimed as the best album in the world and the event in of itself said to be one of the great musical events of the year by Yeezy himself. There are no details yet to say if the whole album will be performed live by Kanye West, but we are looking forward to it for sure. Nothing beats his impromptu concert in Armenia, where he jumped into the shallow man-made Swan Lake in Yerevan, but since parental discretion is advised, according to a vague warning on the website, we can expect things to get quite rowdy.
Yeezy Season 3 is Kanye’s fashion show to be revealed, the line expected to make good headway, as it was hard for the public to afford Season 1, when it hit the stores and it has yet to even see Season 2. He has promised to lower the prices and that leaves Season 3 to prove that the artist sticks to his word. $2600 for a sweater is absurd, as it was in the first season, and even $1245 is a bit much, no matter who the designer is behind it. We expect Season 2 and 3 to sell out just as quickly as the first had, despite its super steep prices.
