Your mother always told you to button to the top, keep looking crisp and clean, and you would never have to worry for a day. At least my mother did. What she doesn’t know is you don’t need to take out your iron, nor sew on those buttons tight this season. What do you need to do? Simply let it all loose, unbutton that shirt to just before the point where you begin to feel a little uncomfortable, and bring out the ‘70s woman in you! You would be surprised at how liberating it can be the get rid of those stiff collars and show off some real attitude. These five women most definitely were not afraid to strut down fashion week, having lost a few of those notches and aired things out. After all, if you cannot test out new, wearable trends at fashion week, where else can you?
Beautiful sky blue hues compliment a shirt that has been tied at the ends in order to achieve the perfect height and prevent being tucked in. This way, this lovely lady has been able to pull off a stylishly pulled-together image while definitely showing off some skin as she’s left most of her buttons undone. Bold, but we love the single button in the middle that keeps the whole thing in place!
Everyone can show cleavage, but how professional does that look? What not everyone is bold enough to do is show off clavicle. You heard me! This nearly off-the-shoulder style is rather unkempt but no less fashionable than what you would see at the office. Fold up the sleeves, unbutton low and pull the oversized shirt back to show off those collarbones of yours, before tucking it neatly into your high waist skirt and off you go. Professionally in order you are.
We absolutely love this particular style! The plaid, the prints, the beauty of the colours, and of course, the unbuttoned shirt! Mixed with those heels, those glasses and that hair, I think this one’s a winner. Showing just a little skin around the collar is what was needed to give this style a rather relaxed but put-together look. Casual yet sleek, Elonora Carisi’s got her buttons all figured out!
There is so much we can say about this style, but it’s the deep V that keeps distracting. If this shirt had been buttoned to the top, she would look strict and the asymmetric skirt perhaps a bit off with those heels. Military style shirts do so much better unbuttoned to show off a bit of cleavage when one is not currently on duty. Black stilettos draw attention away from the lack of colour, giving the perfect contrast to simply complete the look in a chic and elegant manner.
And finally, don’t forget the billowing patterned shirts that mark the end of the summer season when it’s not too cold but chilly enough to want to cover up a bit. The addition of a choker only adds to the appeal of this look as one lazy lady has decided a partial shirt tuck, folded sleeves and missing buttons are the best combination for an autumn look. And boy oh boy is she right! Between the colours, the patterns and the deep V unbuttoned shirt, she’s got one killer sweet outfit!
