While the newest collections unveiled at New York Fashion Week do have lots of gorgeous evening gowns ideal for red carpet events, Zac Posen decided to literally bring the red carpet to New York, by showcasing his gorgeous Zac Posen fall/winter 2013-2014 collection in the red-carpeted Terrace Room of the Plaza Hotel. The result was something magnificent, totally elegant and luxurious, just as it always is with Zac Posen style.
Talking about his choice of the runway to cast the Zac Posen fall/winter 2013-2014 collection, the designer revealed to Vogue: “There’s such great history here. Halston showed here. Oscar de la Renta did shows here. Pat Cleveland [the former supermodel and mother of model Anna Cleveland, who wore one of the finale dresses tonight] was like, ‘OK, so here’s the karma––it’s really good.’ There’s just this feeling of glamour, fantasy, and like I’m continuing a tradition of craft and construction in American fashion.”
Still, he opted for the smallest salon, and this was a deliberate choice, as he wanted “To keep the focus on the clothes.” And even if the Zac Posen fall/winter 2013-2014 collection had been shown in a large hall, hardly anyone could have not noticed those glamorous, romantic and dreamy dresses featuring gray velvet and chiffon, luxe gold and camel tones, perfectly structured silhouettes, lots of peplums, elegant leather and luxurious fur.
This fall, the Zac Posen woman is “unconventional, but she appreciates and loves the historic codes of luxury.” During the daytime she opts for silhouette-embracing skirt suits, velvet mid-length skirts, peplum tops, tailored pants and chic outerwear. And when it gets darker, she slips into a dramatic Zac Posen gown embellished with intricate embroidery and metallic threads and in eye-feasting jewel tones, and dazzles everyone around, wherever she appears. Let’s wait a little and see which dresses from the fabulous Zac Posen fall/winter 2013-2014 collection come to adorn the upcoming red carpet events!
