The fabulous Zimmermann spring/summer 2015 collection is the next in the row of the most show-stopping and memorable fashion lines unveiled during New York Fashion Week spring 2015! Remember the white lace sundress Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge wore at one of the outings with husband William during their Down Under tour? Of course, you do! The Duchess of Cambridge, however, is not the only star client of sisters Nicky and Simone Zimmermann. Actresses Lea Michelle, Sarah Hyland and Naomi Watts have long been avid fans of the sisters’ creations. The iconic Australian label that has been in fashion industry for almost 25 years now today has its exclusive spot in the fashion world. The brand is mostly famous for its bikinis and bathing suits and was actually the first in introducing stylish swimwear and beach accessories such as beach dresses, overalls and bright beach bags to the fashion world back in 1991. The fashion pieces designed by the sisters are exceptional embodiments of the cheerful Australian lifestyle with its sunny and carefree atmosphere.
The Zimmermann spring/summer 2015 collection as well was a mix of shimmery dresses (perhaps we could rename the label and call it Shimmerman for today?) and exquisite swimwear. The first thing we noticed about the collection was that it was outright delicate and fragile. The outfits were mostly designed of sheer fabrics and everything seemed to be in perfect harmony. The flowy silhouettes of the models made the whole scene seem so real, so tangible that at times we thought we could hear the mild ocean breeze blowing and the waves crashing on the shore.
The whole atmosphere of the Zimmermann spring/summer 2015 collection show was that of a fairytale, the colors were neutral and calming (white, light baby blue, beige and light coral were prevailing). The assortment of the dresses went from low cut maxi ones to mini dresses with sleeves and layers of sheer fabrics all the way down. The pieces of swimwear were very elegant, lady-like, and were complemented perfectly with accessories. Lacy baby blue bikini tops and bottoms, black bikini tops with high necklines and one piece black swimsuit made of sheer material up front can be added to the list of signature products identifying the Australian brand.
Moving a little away from the beach, we saw extravagant light blue and golden shimmery costumes for women, smart white jackets with flowy dresses of a little darker shade, vests with belts and loose fitting jumpsuits. Almost all of the Zimmermann models had their hair in loose low ponytails and the makeup was kept to the minimum. The looks were accessorized with hoop earrings. The Zimmermann spring/summer 2015 collection sure was a fashion line to remember!
