If there is one collection we always look forward to, it is the pieces created by Zuhair Murad, particularly for resort. The Lebanese fashion designer is known to get really creative with his work, appealing to every last sense of ours as we enjoy seeing and donning on the clothing he so skilfully pulls together. So when we see the Zuhair Murad resort 2016 collection released to the world, you can imagine our excitement! There are such lovely pieces to be found, so much so that this has quickly become our favourite on the market! Plus, the ladies not only have the most brilliant of dresses to wear out, but their hair and makeup is also impeccably done, with the red lips certainly turning heads wherever one may go.
There are a few trends we simply must make mention of. The black and white the collection opens with is an ode to the FW 2015 season, along with the pink. The slits up the thighs are most certainly a 2015 thing, while the crop tops have begun to span two years now. Flared ends to the pants are so 1970s, and the fashion trend from this year that has been rocking the runways, a look that we are more than happy to see extending into 2016. Plunging necklines are still all the rage it seems, but the rounded high necks are even more so. Strapless is also an option, but not one explored too much in resort. Floral designs and prints have taken over the garments as well, particularly used to decorate the white ensembles. We can certainly see some of the body-cons make it into the 2016 fashion trends as well.
What seems to really be coming in with the resort is the accordion style rainbow like colors to the dresses, which take multiple hues and shades of the same into consideration, giving us strips instead of patches. In this particular collection, we see it on high-necked sleeveless dresses with hems just above the knees, and on long gowns that fall to the floor. There is such glamour in the pieces, and quite the Barbie appeal, particularly with the embroidered crop top with high waist thigh slit full skirt underneath, the slender belt accentuating the thin waist and long legs underneath. New trends seem to include single side sleeves, and lave on high neck mini dresses in pink. Lace tops with off-the-shoulder designs tucked into high waist shorts, all in pink are seen within the collection as well, while we expect to see at least 2 or 3 of these long pink gowns gracing the red carpets soon enough.
Deviating from the Barbie pink, we also see peachy hues take over, in dresses, gowns and high waist pants, the lace tops a common look throughout. Taking inspiration from Versace, the diagonal openings are also incorporated here, except with zippers this time. And why not? It is possibly one of the loveliest modern cuts seen as of yet!
