Half-Up Waterfall Braid Tutorial

One of the trendiest and most gorgeous looks that inspires almost every sweetie girl is the waterfall braid. This elegant braid is cool and complex in its appearance, but very simple in fact. Take your time to study the tips thoroughly and create this cascade braid for your hair. Half-up waterfall braids look best for both straight hair and loose waves.

To start with brush your hair carefully with a wide toothed comb and start braiding. Part your hair as you normally part, either it in the center or on the side. And begin braiding on each side. Divide each section into three parts and braid adding hair. Braid the strands three times, beginning from the right strand. When you reach the left strand add more hair and fold the strand to the center. Now comes the main point of the overall look; dropping the strand. Once you’ve French braided your left strand, you have to drop the right strand and let it fall down like a waterfall. Now you have to take another section close to the right strand and make it your right strand. Next French braid the left strand, drop the right strand, and take another section to serve as right one. Repeat the same actions till you reach a comfortable spot you would like to stop the braid. Secure the hair with pins. Now you have to get the same appearance on the other side of the head. For the final step, braid the remaining piece of hair left from your cascade into a fishtail braid and secure the braid with a tie. You can highlight the braid by using a fresh flower or any other hair accessory.

Boho Braided Half-Up Tutorial

Another interesting half-up hairstyle to try is the braided half-updo, which will appeal especially to romantic, bohemian girls. You can try this style with shoulder long hair as well. Your hair should be clean but not just washed; otherwise it will be slippery and make your task difficult. Brush your hair leaving no tangles. Backcomb the front part of your hair adding a little volume to the root. Now, take a small section of hair from one side of your head and simple French braid it, securing it with an elastic band, as you finish. Don’t forget to leave out some hair section on the front for a boho finish. Next, take a section of hair at each temple, braid them and sweep them back off the face, securing the braids at the back of your head with an elastic band.

Now, grab one lower section from the right side of your head and again braid it. Pull this braid on the opposite side of your head and tuck its ends under the rest of the braids. Your boho half updo is done!

Rope Braid Half-Updo Tutorial

Divide your hair into two sections. Braid a simple French braid on each side and secure the two braids together at the back of your head. You have to secure them in the middle though. The rest of the hair should fall down. Now take lower sections of hair on both sides and braid them again the same way parallel to the first braid line. Once you reach the point where you have to secure the braids together, take the ends of the previous braids and by gently putting it between the new two braids fasten them all together. You will receive a cute rope braid in a half up style. For more emphasis feel free to attach nice flowers or a brooch on the two parallel points where you secured the braid tips.

Quick Everyday Half-Updo Tutorial

As far as half-up hairstyles go, styling possibilities are limitless. If you don’t have time to French braid, twist or waterfall braid your hair creating lovely updo hairstyles, you can go for something simple and chic at the same time. Just create some texture on the front part of your scalp, using lots of hair spray to make your hair stay in place throughout the day. Then, take a portion of hair from each side of your head and take them away from your face, securing them at the back of your head with an elastic band or some cute hair accessory. For the rest of the hair either use hot rollers to create waves or curl them with a curling iron.

You can do the same updo taking as much hair from the sides, as you like. Try various options to see which one goes well for your faciak features. And when it comes to securing your hair on the back, again you can work your imagination and not just simply tie them together, but also braid them on the back, twist them together, cross the two sections over each other, tucking the endings under the do, or create a bun or a lovely hair bow on the back.
