A sweetheart braid is really very easy to crate. You only have to style the small section of the hair, while leaving the rest part as it is, be it curly, with waves or straight. The braided heart will look nice on a messy background as well. If you got addicted to this girlish half-up hairstyle, hurry up to have a look at the tips below and learn how to style a sweetheart braid in no time.

To reach this gorgeous effect you will need a wide-toothed comb, hair clips and ponytail holders or elastic bands. You need to have clean hair. So once your hair is washed and is damp take a wide toothed comb to straighten the hair leaving no tangles in between. With a narrower toothed comb divide your hair into two parts just in the center and start working on each side separately.

With the help of a comb gather a small section of hair from the crown. As you would braid an ordinary braid, divide this section of hair into three parts and begin a French braid starting from the crown and curving to the temple, then taking it to the back of the hair, fixing it like a top lobe of a heart. Then lift hair into the braid only from this side of the part. Do not leave any loose hair near the ear area. Once you get to the central part at the back of the head, stop braiding and secure the braid with an elastic band. Repeat the same action on the other side of the hair and again secure the tips of the braid with an elastic band. Try to braid the second braid as tight as the first one, so that the heart looks symmetric.

Once you have got the two parts ready it is time to shape the heart. Join the two braids to each other with an elastic band at the bottom, giving the shape of a heart in the back of the head. And that it is! Your lovely sweetheart braid is ready! Do not worry for the rest of the hair. If you have natural waves they will get their shape once the hair is completely dry. You can use some mousse to fix the hair so that it is not too voluminous, otherwise the sweetheart will not be so eye catching. Or if you have decided to do the styling on straight hair, then you can start with completely dry and ironed hair at once.

In addition to this, it is indeed a good and easy hairstyle for mommies. They can make it for their little cuties just within 15 minutes.
