How to Style Wavy Hair

The most elegant and hottest look can be achieved by luxurious waves that make every woman look hot. If you have medium or long hair, then having perfect looking waves is the best solution to the everyday problem of deciding what to do with your hair. Besides, waves create an ideal evening look.

While some girls come granted with natural waves, others keep on wondering how to style wavy hair. Styling waves is not a difficult task and you can do that yourself at home. No need to visit a salon and spend money. Simply have good hot rollers or a curling iron at home, as well as a hairspray, and that’s it. Below you can learn techniques to style glamorous waves on different occasions. Depending on the length of your hair you can reach different effects.

How to Style Wavy Hair

To start with, wash your hair first. If you want your hair to be very shiny and eye-catching, style your hair when it is completely clean and dry. You should avoid curling wet or damp hair. First, wet hair will not hold a curl well, secondly, the curling iron may damage your hair, thus create new problems for you.

If your hair is not naturally curly, then you might need to use some volumizing sprays to reach a better result. Apply the spray on your hair and gently massage it.

To go on, you can choose any equipment you are used to, either hot rollers or an iron. Separate your hair in the middle, to have equal portions of hair on each side. Then take a small portion of hair and start the job. You can have either tight or loose waves. For this you have to take either a small amount of hair or a larger portion. In addition to this, the size of the rollers also matters. For tight ones, small rollers should be chosen, whereas for a loose effect take bigger ones or use large-barreled curling irons. The only thing to keep in mind is, the more hair you curl at a time, the sooner it will lose its look. Especially if your hair is too straight, take smaller portions.

Next, take the rollers, put some portion of the hair onto it and start rolling it upward. You can reach either the scalp, if you want all your hair be in waves, or you can simply roll the tips of the hair only. Once you do so, fix the rollers with clips and let them stay on your hair for some time. Next take the rollers away from your hair and let your hair cool for a minute or too. Do not escape cooling the hair. It is an important part of the whole styling procedure.

If you want to have a glamorous look, start brushing your hair afterwards. Brush your hair slightly; do not over style or over brush, since the less you touch the hair, the longer it will keep its shape. For a better result apply spray on the hair. Or if you do not want to brush the hair you can go on adjusting with your fingers, which will make the waves look even more natural. You can do so to achieve beachy waves as well.

For a switch, you can try alternative ways of wrapping the curls. If you are using a curling iron, you can both wrap your hair forward or backward. Each of them will create a completely different look. So depending on what kind of a look you are tending to create, experiment with your hair and get the desired look. Do not give up if the result does not seem ideal to you. Practice is what leads to perfection. Try several times and you will soon master the art of styling wavy hair.
