If you are used to having your hair up, then you will love this style. Whenever you have a ponytail and want to make some changes to look more original, then a sock bun will come to your rescue. It can work both on casual basis and for an evening look too. Once you decide to try this hairstyle take a pair of socks and a hair tie. Only make sure that the sock matches your hair color: for blonde hair take a nude sock, for brunettes a darker shade is ok. So now let’s have a look at the tutorial step by step to create this lovely textured sock bun.

To start the styling procedure, first of all get a clean sock of your hair color. Cut the toes out of the sock so that it makes a tube and roll the sock up so it looks like a doughnut. Remember the longer the sock is, the bigger your bun you will have. Next, start working on the hair. Since the bun is going to be a textured one, there is no need to brush your hair, the messier, the sexier look you will get. Gather your hair together at the back of your head and make a ponytail. You can make the ponytail either in the center or on the side, let it be either high or low, that does not really matter. Slide your pony tail through the center of the sock doughnut, till the sock gets to the base.

Split your pony tail hair in such a way that it covers the entire sock from all the sides. Once you do so, take an elastic band to secure the hair around the sock. If your hair is long enough then wrap the hair round the ponytail base and roll it all around it next, till you reach the hair tips. You have now got a bun. To get rid of the hair tips tuck them under the bun with the help of bobby pins. At this point you can consider the undertaking completed. You now have a gorgeous bun that looks very nice and is really tight enough. Do not worry, no hair will not come down soon. If you have some short hair hanging just beneath the bun then fix them with your fingers and you can feel free to use a little hair spray to fix them.
