Nail lacquers are a girl’s closest companions wherever she goes, from out for a fun sleepover with her best pals to vacations around the world. They bring glam to the looks we sport and leave the world fully enchanted and admiring our hands if done up right. Add some glitter, add some art, add some stones, and you have a masterpiece to behold. Long nails or short, French polish or Japanese designs, nail lacquers provide the perfect means of expressing individuality and exude an air of elegance. Nail polish colors range from funky metallic to classic reds, ocean blues to neon pinks. They bring a splash of color that matches the accessories that adorn our outfits and can cost a fortune to collect. Some are works of art in themselves, while the colors are simply stunning.
Christian Louboutin plays on a girl’s desire for diamonds and glam, combining the lustre with nail lacquer in the limited edition Starlight Rouge Louboutin nail lacquer for holiday 2014. The bottle in itself is a work of art, an object to be admired and coveted, to inspire the envy of all those who lay eyes on it. The red and black gradient effect is just lovely and creates the illusion of the sunset’s final red rays giving way to the night. If the pristine perfection of the piece in itself doesn’t captivate, with the 1800 two-tone Strass crystals hand-applied to the multi-faceted glass bottle, the highly-pigmented, rich nail lacquer in rouge will certainly have one falling in love with the meticulousness by which it was produced. The color is long-wearing and chip resistant, with a patented brush custom-designed for this limited edition piece that allows for precise application while the weighted long cap allows for better control overall. The formula is made so that there are no air bubbles to worry about as it gives your nails flawless coverage.
Funny enough, the extra-long cap reminds us of a bejewelled stiletto heel and does wonders for conjuring up images of fabulous vampire queens. Without a doubt, it is a rare and exquisite jewel to behold, though the price tag is rather steep at $675, available in Sephora stores. Of course, between the design, the brand and the product, it’s certainly a splurge that’s entirely worth it if you have the cash to spare. At the end of the day, a good nail polish is well worth the buy, particularly if it’s a limited edition high-quality bottle of artistic design.
