OPI NYC Ballet Inspired Nail Collection Spring 2012

The main features of both the spring season and ballet are lightness, freshness and sophistication. The combination of these two leads to the hottest collaboration of the new season, as famous nail polish retailer OPI has joined hands with NYCB for a fabulous ballet-inspired collection that sizzles from the very first glance. Although bright colors are long proved to be the easiest way of attracting loads of attention, nothing can be compared with the soft pastel tones, when it comes to sophistication and femininity. Titled SoftShades, the newest OPI NYC Ballet Inspired Nail collection for spring 2012 brings only pretty pastels, letting you create the most delicate and lady-like manicure in the sunshine season.

OPI Executive VP & Artistic Director, Suzi Weiss-Fischmann talks about the collaboration, stating: “OPI is so excited to work with the New York City Ballet. NYCB is rich with artistic history and has a renowned reputation that brings people from around the world to see NYCB performances. The dancers, choreography and costumes provided a wealth of inspiration for a range of soft, feminine hues. The beige, pink, and white lacquers bring to mind classic ballet slippers, tutus and leotards, while the sheer lilac and gray add muted color to ballet’s traditional pink.”
Katherine E. Brown, NYCB Executive Director also shared the excitement and said: “One of our goals at NYCB is to make ballet accessible to the widest possible public. We are thrilled to be partnering with OPI on this exciting new endeavor, sharing the beauty and elegance of NYCB with a new audience.”
As always, OPI has used iconic names for the new six shades, making it easier for you to memorize your favorite nail lacquers. Pick your favorite shade from:
• My Pointe Exactly – sheer gray
• Care to Danse? – a classy lilac tone
• You Callin’ Me a Lyre? – a soft pink shade
• Barre My Soul – a sheer beige hue
• Don’t Touch My Tutu! – a sheer white color
• Pirouette My Whistle – silver sparkle tone
The OPI NYC Ballet Inspired Spring 2012 Nail collection will become available for purchase professional salons and specialty stores in the beginning of April. You’ll have to pay $8.50 to get your favorite hue.
