Irina Shayk Is Back With Intimissimi for the SS 2016 Campaign

Irina Shayk knows how to work her angles, which is only a small part of why she is so stunning as a lingerie model, among other things. She has a slim, toned body that acts as a great canvas for the sexier side of the fashion world, and her industry expertise makes her the ideal target model for any brand. No matter what she’s modeling, she always brings an extra level of sensuality, and her latest traipse in the lingerie industry posing for the Intimissimi SS 2016 lingerie campaign was no exception.

And there’s no reason it should have been. This was the brand that served as Shayk’s breakthrough photoshoot in 2006, so after a decade of taking the industry by storm it would only seem natural to return to her roots. “It is such an honor to come full circle with the brand that I started with,” said Shayk, in an email to Vogue during Paris Fashion Week. “So much has changed in my career since I worked with them, and I am happy to be a part of the Intimissimi family again.”

The feeling of being a household name must be just as extraordinary as being able to come back to where everything began. Such must be the life of an extravagant supermodel like Shayk, and her humble statements speak volumes about the pride she puts in her work and those who have helped her along the way. Her work as of late has been leaning more toward high fashion, as could be expected from such a wildly popular supermodel, but that just makes for a more intense schedule with stellar new modeling opportunities. Above everything, though, she remains humble and down to Earth.

“I am very grateful for everything that I have,” said Shayk. “I have worked hard for it – it didn’t happen overnight. So I appreciate this contract and all my relationships with the amazing designers whom I work with.”

In this latest Intimissimi summer 2016 lingerie campaign, which was photographed by Sante D’Orazio, daring black garments are featured as staple pieces for any woman’s lingerie repertoire. Naturally she looks stunning in the still photos, but it is in the campaign’s video where her sensuality really shows its weight. The addition of movement to a lingerie campaign can do wonders to bring the garments to life, especially when there is a talent as great as Shayk wearing them. Even still, the model believes it is all about confidence when striving to look good in bedroom wear.

“When it comes to lingerie, there are no rules,” Shayk began. “I feel the sexiest when I’m myself, no hair, no makeup.” When you feel sexy, it shows. If you’re comfortable in your own skin and are willing to play things up a bit and have fun with it, lingerie can be the best thing for you. And to the supermodel, the stage where a garment is modeled isn’t the most appealing apart – what is can relate to anyone: “I love seeing lingerie on the runway, but I personally think it’s best to save it for the bedroom!”
