Jourdan Dunn Won’t Walk for Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show 2015

In 2012, Jourdan Dunn was cast in her first Victoria’s Secret show, something many girls strive for but often with no success. She has been in an esteemed position in the modeling world, with her title as a Vogue cover girl and now as a VS model, but it seems something wasn’t quite right behind the scenes: Jourdan Dunn won’t walk for the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show 2015.

Jourdan Dunn Won't Walk for Victoria's Secret Fashion Show 2015

This 25-year-old British supermodel has been cast in VS shows for three years running now, which would have marked 2015 as her fourth. However Dunn was not cast to walk with the Angels in this year’s show. The news was confirmed by a snarky tweet from Dunn herself, with a clearly negative spin on Victoria’s Secret that will probably spark some tension between the brand and the model.

“Feeling soo much better about not doing BS …..sorry I mean VS now that Rihanna isn’t doing it also.” There is no way a statement like this would go over well for the relationship between Dunn and the lingerie enterprise. While there have been many models who simply take a hiatus from the show for a year and return later, but with this statement, this seems less likely.

It seems probable the model didn’t think the tweet completely through, as she decided to delete it later on – of course, not before the whole world caught wind of it. No one really knows whether the “BS” was referring to her bad experience with modeling for the brand or if it was just a spur of the moment thing, so we don’t know if there was any bad blood between Dunn and VS before the show casting. Or, of course, there’s always the chance the model never went to the casting for the show, and is simply voicing her assurance for not attempting to join again this year.

But to an extent you have to see Dunn’s side of the tweet. It’d be great walking a show where Rihanna was performing! In this way, the model is justifying not being cast in the show, and is taking it in stride. That being said, Ellie Goulding was a spectacular choice to replace Rihanna. Both singers have a definite life when they perform, albeit two completely different personas, so there’s something new either one could have brought to the show. Dunn simply chose this aspect to turn to in order to cite her new state of snarky content.

This is one tweet we may never know the backstory behind, but we’ll just have to wait and see if Jourdan Dunn shows back up on the roster in future Victoria’s Secret fashion shows.
