Beautiful Monica Cruz, Penelope Cruz’s sister, has been chosen as the new face of luxury lingerie label Agent Provocateur for the brand’s fall/winter 2012 lingerie campaign. Being a professional dancer, Monica perfectly embodies the seductiveness and highly coveted characteristic of the brand. She radiates self-confidence and a ladylike allure in the latest Agent Provocateur fall/winter 2012-2013 lingerie campaign, while showcasing some of the sultry options from the brand’s latest collection.
For the upcoming cold season, Agent Provocateur goes for more Gothic touches flavored with romantic notes that make the collection so enchanting. According to WWD, Sarah Shotton, the creative director for the brand, stated: “I wanted it to be romantic Goth, so it’s quite dark but quite beautiful.…It’s nostalgic but true to the brand in dark shades of red and purple. It’s set in a Gothic underground space, brought alive by Mónica’s frenzied and fantastical performance. Mónica is a beautiful embodiment of the Agent Provocateur brand, knowingly sexy and empowered by her own sensuality.”
The new Agent Provocateur campaign is titled “Wilhelmina: Show Your True Self” and Monica is a vivid example of following the statement. She managed to look both natural and extremely mysterious and seductive during the shoot, which surprised even the photographer, who stated: “Well, that’s never happened before.” We can say that her skill has helped her a lot, as she and her sister have previously done something like that for a famous fashion brand.
On the creative perspective behind the looks presented, Sarah Shotton stated: “For Whitney, we wanted it to be edgy and domineering. We are finding those looks are getting to be more popular.…People are getting braver. We wanted Novah in colors that are rich and sexy and slightly Gothic. When I showed Novah to all of the girls at stores worldwide, it was like ‘Ah.’ The lace for Ameliah was so pretty that I wanted to use a full length of it as a skirt with suspenders. If you’re shy about your hips, it kind of skims off the top.”
