Victoria’s Secret is infamous for its sensational million dollar bras and this year there has been much in terms of speculation as to how the lingerie company will top its prized piece of the holiday collection: the $10 million dollar jewel encrusted (with a whopping 4200 stones including rubies, diamonds, and yellow sapphires) 18-karat cold bra with matching belt, topped with a 52-carat pear shaped ruby dropping from the middle.
Now, a woman most definitely needs her lingerie and an over-the-top bra is not uncommon to have, making us feel more feminine, wilder and certainly more confident. That undergarment that very few people are given the opportunity to see for themselves gives us certain strengths while allowing us to revel in our bodies more than we normally may. Most women will find flaws to focus on instead, meaning the bra makes for the perfect tool to draw one’s attention to perfectly perky looking breasts cupped in a soft, silky fabric and pushed out for maximum effect.
It’s no secret that Victoria’s Secret collections are made to tantalize a woman’s senses and stir her innermost desires, which is why the “Fantasy Bra” idea holds so much appeal. It may be unattainable, but that does not stop us from envisioning the piece on our bodies for a moment and becoming the eccentric queens we once imagined ourselves to be.
This year’s reveal of the “Fantasy Bra” has left us quite speechless, however. Where we expected one, we have been treated to two fantasy bras, one in blue and the other in red, both with over-the-top embellishments and matching body chains. It’s almost like the Amazon Queens have walked onto the stage in the guise of veteran Angels. We’re actually debating between Amazon and Arabian Princess actually, since the girls could definitely be belly-dancing in these sets for sure! We can imagine it really leaving those with a fetish for Middle-Eastern women mesmerized with the designs. Soon, the sets will be heading out to London to be showcased there during the December show.
The bras are mirror-images in 2 different colors as they incorporate sapphire, ruby and diamonds, created by Pascal Mouawad, and valued at $2 million apiece. There are exactly 16,000 gems bringing the lingerie pieces to life, as well as jewelled body pieces made of 18-karat yellow gold. According to official sources, the pieces took 1380 hours to create. These Victoria’s Secret “Fantasy Bras” have required their own security measures, often coming with a pair of bodyguards, from the beginning.
Allessandra Ambrosio and Adriana Lima are both the “chosen ones” to show off the multi-million dollar lingerie sets when the show hits the London runway instead of the NYC one this year. The girls most definitely have shared their excitement at the prospect of seeing new faces and absorbing fresh energy from the crowd as they glide down that catwalk looking as perfect as ever. We are mesmerized by their stunning photos and are entirely too impatient to see them sporting those incredible pieces of art, live.
