MAC Shadescents Perfume Line Inspired by Iconic MAC Lipsticks

Who doesn’t love a good fragrance matching their favorite lipsticks? Rumors that MAC Cosmetics was about to turn this idea into an actual collection of perfumes hit the headlines weeks ago, and have now been confirmed. So, please welcome the MAC Shadescents perfume line, which has been inspired by iconic MAC lipsticks!

Set to hit the online shelves at Nordstrom, Bloomingdale’s and Macy’s on November 30th and the brick-and-mortar stores and MAC beauty counters on December 8th, the MAC Shadescents perfume collection consists of six different fragrances in total, which have been inspired by MAC’s absolute six must-have lipsticks, namely Lady Danger, Ruby Woo, My Heroine, Yum-Yum, Velvet Teddy, and Creme d’Nude.

Yum-Yum, which is a Barbie pink-infused delicious cotton-candy fragrance, is the star of the MAC Shadescents collection, represented by brand ambassador Blac Chyna, whose ad campaign for the perfume line has now been revealed. Each perfume’s packaging recalls its corresponding lipstick, with the actual fragrance featuring only one dominant aroma, i.e. that of the respective lipstick.

Aside from Yum-Yum’s cotton-candy scent, we have accents of leather in both My Heroine and Ruby Woo, cherry notes in Lady Danger, accents of musk and honey in Velvet Teddy and surprisingly sensual notes of amber musk, inspired by scents of bare skin, in Creme d’Nude.

“We have a fan base attached to certain lipstick shades,” M.A.C’s Senior Vice President and Group Creative Director James Gager explained when asked about the reason behind the development and launch of MAC’s brand new Shadescents collection. To cater to the beauty needs of their big fan base, the brand decided to try something new and ventured out into the perfume industry to launch iconic fragrances that would represent each group of their lipstick fans.

As if things weren’t already thrilling enough, the MAC Shadescents perfume collection has another surprise in store for us. The line will feature both the perfume and the corresponding lipstick color coming in a nice packaging, with the fragrance retailing at $57. We cannot wait for the beauty brand to release more info about the fragrance line and the ad campaign’s pictures!

Given the fact that most of these 6 MAC lipstick must-haves sell out in minutes (with the classic red Ruby Woo being the ultimate bestseller), we predict that the MAC Shadescents perfume line will fly off the shelves as soon as it becomes available on MACCosmetics.com and Macys.com!
