Philip Treacy for MAC: New Exciting Makeup Line for 2015

Just when we thought the Giambattista Valli for MAC summer 2015 makeup line was going to be the mega hit in the beauty industry in the new year, our favorite cosmetics brand announced yet another exciting collaboration: the Philip Treacy for MAC makeup collection for 2015! You may find little or absolutely no connection between makeup and headwear, but it’s the beauty they both lead to. The world-renowned London based Irish milliner, whose designs have been worn by Kate Middleton, Sarah Jessica Parker, Princess Beatrice and others, also sees a strong connection between the two, which is why he decided to team up with MAC to come up with his own 12- piece makeup line set to be launched in April 2015. Judging from the campaign photos leaked, we already can imagine how exquisite and unique it’s all going to be and just can’t wait to see the entire collection!

Philip Treacy for MAC 2015 Makeup

“Makeup…enhances the features. Which is what hats are about. It’s a painless surgery,” Treacy has stated. “MAC has been very supportive of my work for over 20 years. To me, MAC is a futuristic makeup brand. They always push the boundaries and foster future creative talents. So, when they approached me for this collaboration two years ago, I said yes immediately,” he then added talking about his collaboration.

Turns out the Philip Treacy for MAC 2015 makeup collection is going to be more about colors, rather then dramatic and extravagant products, since it’s actually colors that can change a whole lot in one’s look, enhancing certain facial features and overshadowing others. According to Treacy, the entire line will center around three main color palettes – metallic, colorful and slightly Gothic. Each of the palettes is inspired from different Tracy hats. For instance, the metallic palette takes its cues from an Art Deco-style headpiece in silver tones, while a pink feathered design inspired the milliner to come up with the colorful palette. A dramatic black lace face mask is the exact source of inspiration behind that edgy Gothic palette.

MAC makeup artist and photographer Sølve Sundsbø and Philip Treacy have created quite impressive images for the collection’s campaign, which truly captures all the charisma and edginess the products will come embedded with. You can expect two highlighter powder, two Pro Longwear Paint Pots, thee Fluidline eyeliners, one mascara and three lipsticks from the Philip Treacy for MAC 2015 makeup collection. Stay tuned to discover the entire makeup line soon and you can always check the #MACPhilipTreacy hashtag on the social accounts to disocver any sneak peeks and news.
