Silisponge – Silicon Makeup Sponge Is The New Makeup Obsession

The latest and greatest in makeup application is the Silisponge, a silicon makeup sponge reputed to make foundation application take half the time. This little makeup applicator came from Hong Kong and has people incredibly intrigued from the first sight.

Silisponge - Silicon Makeup Sponge

The exterior of the silicon makeup applicator is designed to be oil and grease resistant and unlike all other makeup sponges, this one is completely clear. The Silisponge has been compared to plenty of different objects based on its appearance, but there has been very little stated to attempt to refute the claims made about the effectiveness and incredible design. The Silisponge is easy to use, easy to clean and incredibly popular.

Apparently the design is built to absorb less makeup, meaning that more is applied to your face. The proof of this is in hand, on skin and in the bottle. In hand, the Silisponge will maintain is clear, gelatinous appearance while on skin, the foundation should be evenly, dazzlingly spread and your product should last you longer since you do not have to use as much.

On the Molly Cosmetics website, there are videos showing the use and care and cleaning of a Silisponge. The videos are compelling, seeing the foundation swiped and dabbed into place, contour colors as well with incredible smooth finish, and the Silisponge is none the worse for wear, not a completely different color as with most makeup sponges and still crystal clear.

Cleaning the Silisponge is as easy as you could ever want. Just rub liquid makeup remover or hand soap onto the Silisponge, soap it up by rubbing gently, then rinse under water until the soap is gone and you’re right back to a fresh Silisponge – in seconds.

Silisponge - Silicon Makeup Sponge

The Silisponge is made of PU, or polyurethane, which is a very versatile and interesting type of plastic that is used in a lot of items. The care and use instructions are very clear. Once the outer lining is damaged, the entire Silisponge must be disposed of for a new one and for those very curious – it is for external use only, not to be ingested. Keeping out of reach of children is obvious, but these silicon makeup sponges must also be kept out of direct sunlight.

The Silisponge is currently on restocking pre-order and the requests are being processed as quickly as possible. The new stock is accounted for and immediately shipped out in the order that the requests come in so there is no need to be disheartened to find they are sold out on the Molly Cosmetics website. Following them on Facebook and Instagram will let you know when they restock and you can order yours.
