One of the most anticipated collections of the year is officially on its way. When Moschino and H&M first announced their collaboration back in April, we all got super-excited. H&M is one of the brands that allows everyone to get their hands on high-end designs at affordable prices. The news didn’t come as much of a surprise, considering the fact that the Swedish retailer has released lines with names such as Stella McCartney, Erdem, Versace, Alexander Wang, Karl Lagerfeld, Balmain and more.
One of the all-time favorite iconic Italian fashion houses, Versace, might have a new owner. According to an Italian newspaper, a huge American company is making a move in purchasing the label. Reports say that Michael Kors Holdings Limited is getting ready to buy Versace and announce the sale for around $2.4 billion.
While you’re chilling on the beach and having the best summertime, fashion houses are getting ready for their fall releases. You might not be even thinking about shopping for the upcoming season, but the new trends are already in so you might want to keep up. One of the latest brands to release the campaign for Fall 2018 is Versace. The Italian luxury label is not only dropping new ads but is also releasing the “longest-ever advertising image.’ Under the leadership of the iconic Donatella, Versace is thriving on the fashion scene. It’s slowly becoming the go-to shopping place not only for Millennials but also for women of all ages.
Versace is having a moment right now. The brand has always been in the spotlight, but we can all agree that 2018 is a Donatella Versace year. It all began with the spectacular Spring 2018 tribute collection. Donatella honored her late brother by pulling his infamous prints from the archives and delivering them in an updated format. The grand finale gathered the biggest supermodels of the older generation, Carla Bruni, Cindy Crawford, Claudia Schiffer, and Helena Christensen. It was a show that went straight down to history.
But the Donatella Versace moment didn’t stop there. The designer got the honors to co-host the 2018 Met Gala: “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination. Naturally, some of the most breathtaking numbers on the red carpet were designed by no other than the genius Donatella. From Katy Perry‘s spectacular look to Kim Kardashian‘s ultra-glamorous liquid gold dress, Donatella undoubtedly ruled the 2018 Met Gala red carpet. The CFDA International Award Donatella received this year was the cherry on top. Donatella Versace had an energetic, good year and that reflects on the brand’s Resort 2019 collection.
The main star in the collection is mythological Medusa. She is a synonym of women’s independence and empowerment which perfectly resonates with Versace’s identity. For this collection, Donatella introduced an array of new electric prints in the brand’s recognizable aesthetic. Part of the collection was filled with hard-to-miss explosive pieces. Donatella added a touch of athleisure to some of the looks since she knows that millennials are obsessed with this sporty-meets-chic aesthetic.
The very eye-catching designs will for sure get a special spot in the wardrobes of the A-list clientele, but Donatella made sure the Resort 2019 lineup is well balanced. Part of the collection includes tailored pieces everyone from the young customers to busy ladies would find appealing. The color palette goes from pale pink and other pastel tones to electric hues such as vibrant red, neon pink, bright yellow and more.
You can’t expect a Versace collection without logo-infused pieces. This lineup, like all the others, celebrates the brand’s logo. Whether is in a form of striking prints or just written on the pieces, the logomania at Versace is a never-ending affair. The standout logo pieces include trending fanny packs that will most certainly become must-have It pieces the moment they become available.
The Versace Resort 2019 Collection is another feast for the eyes. Donatella Versace for sure deserves to be called a living fashion legend.
Versace is joining the ranks of brands such as Stella McCartney, Tommy Hilfiger, Net-a-Porter, Ralph Lauren, Calvin Klein, and Giorgio Armani with the no-fur policy. According to Donatella, the luxury Italian fashion house will no longer introduce products made of fur. During the past few years, a lot of popular high-end brands decided to completely switch to ecological fur. The fashion industry each day introduces new changes, but the use of sustainable materials is now a necessity, not a trend.
Donatella, who is also the creative director of the brand, surprised everyone during her interview with Luke Leitch for 1843 Magazine. The popular designer casually announced that Versace will no longer be using fur in their collections. The full story will come out on Friday. “Fur? I am out of that. I don’t want to kill animals to make fashion. It doesn’t feel right.’-the designer said.
Recently speculations have been circulating, that Donatella might be hiring a new creative director. Versace was founded in 1978 by her brother Gianni, and after his tragic death she took over the leading position. According to many, the Italian designer was planning to involve another creative director to work by her side in the near future. When asked regarding the topic, she decided to keep us all in the dark. She might have hinted there will be some changes, but we’ll have to wait and see.
“Somebody came up to me recently and said, ‘there will be a huge crisis if you leave ” it will be a fashion disaster!’ Can you believe that? Yes, I am Versace. But also Versace needs to mean change. And it needs to be an opportunity for others to express themselves.”- Donatella explained.
The Versace company still hasn’t released an official statement. Fur was present in many Versace collections, including their last runway show in Milan just weeks ago. The brand’s official website still offers products made of fur.
This decision follows the announcement from Furla, another Italian brand that is going fur-free. Furla’s representatives shared the news just one day ago. From now on, all of their handbags and accessories will only include eco fur starting with the Cruise 2019 collection. The collection will be available in stores starting from November. The luxury American fashion house, Michael Kors joined the club back in December, while Gucci shared the news in October last year. All of these brands pledged to stop the use of fur in their collections in 2018.
For years Gianni Versace‘s opulent Maison in Miami Beach served as a backdrop for tourist photos. Now tourists can finally get inside and even stay there for days. Anyway, the luxury property is available only to those who can spare minimum $749 per night. The designer’s one-of-a-kind property is now known as a boutique luxury hotel Villa Casa Casuarina.
Gianni Versace was killed right on those stone steps in 1997 by serial killer Andrew Cunanan. Even that tragic event didn’t stop tourists and his fans to visit the Maison just to admire its beauty and take photos.
Gianni purchased the house for $2.95 million and the Revere Hotel next door for $3.7 million to built his Maison. Anyway, this amount is nothing compared to what he spent on renovations. Gianni Versace spared a whopping $32 million to demolish part of the property, make a pool, garden and decorate it to his liking. Unfortunately, he didn’t get to spend much time in his Miami residence due to his tragic death. The designer purchased the property only 5 years before he died.
Versace made 10 luxury suits out of the 24 original apartments. He lined the pool with 24-karat gold tiles, added mosaics, and other artworks. Although his sister Donatella Versace took all the designer’s furniture when she sold the Maison, the hotel tries to keep the original aesthetics of the property. Now known as Villa Casa Casuarina, the hotel also has a restaurant that serves a blend of Italian and Mediterranean food and wine. It’s only steps away from the Atlantic Ocean, on Ocean Drive in Miami Beach.
The true crime anthology television series American Crime Story was filmed in this hotel and tells the story of the death of Gianni Versace. The producer Ryan Murphy couldn’t believe that he got a permission to film in the house. Due to its unique aesthetic, it would have been impossible to recreate the setting.
Guests can now stay even in the designer’s former room in Villa Casa Casuarina. Villa Suite is opulently decorated for an authentic experience. The Venus Suite where Donatella Versace stayed is open for reservations as well. All of the other suits are full of details in Versace’s recognizable aesthetic. Whether you are a fan of the designer or just want to admire the luxurious architecture, Villa Casa Casuarina in Miami Beach is the right place for you. For those who just want to stop by without sparing a fortune, a dinner at the restaurant will do the job. A reservation is a must for the restaurant, but the bar welcomes walk-ins for a drink.

In one of the most touching and amazing presentations this fashion month, Donatella Versace paid tribute to her talented brother. Even 20 years after his tragic death, Gianni Versace is still one of the biggest names in the fashion industry. This time, Donatella decided to celebrate his work and bring back to life his most iconic designs.
“I finally found the courage to really go to the archives and pay tribute to Gianni. In one show you can’t really touch on everything Gianni did. Gianni was joy, he was happiness, full of life; and these prints were a big part of his personality,’- Donatella explained before the show.
Donatella based the Spring 2018 collection on the most iconic moments from Gianni’s design history. She took the courage to peek at her brother’s archives and reinvent his biggest collections. Versace was mostly focused on the period from 1991 to 1995 when Gianni reached his career peak and presented out-of-this-world designs.
The upgraded pieces from Spring 2018 are based on ten influential collections by the late fashion giant: Icons, Warhol, My Friend Elton, Tresor de la Mer, Vogue, Animalia, Baroque, Metal Mesh, Butterflies and Native Americans. All Donatella did, was borrow the vibrant prints and made a new collection that is the dream of every modern lady.
The designs weren’t just replicas of Gianni’s work. On the contrary, Donatella only used the basics and gave a strong feminine touch to the figures. Gianni’s iconic prints were used from head to toes in most of the looks. You could still see the baroque leggings, the faces of Marilyn Monroe and James Dean on tight catsuits and a hint of soft pastels. Gianni did athleisure way before it was a thing, so that is why the collection featured elements of street style with delicate elegance and glamour.
And if you were wondering who would score the best runway moment during the Milan Fashion Week, wonder no more. Donatella surpassed every huge show opening and closing so far. The designer repeated history by gathering “The Supers’ at one place and letting them close the show right next to her. In a dimmed lightning the curtains went up and the greatest models of all time showed up on the runway. Claudia Schiffer, Carla Bruni, Naomi Campbell, Cindy Crawford and Helena Christensen appeared in gold lame gowns and started walking while George Michael’s “Freedom’ was playing. What an amazing way to honor the great memory of Gianni and to remind everyone how grandiose his impact is in today’s fashion.

Donatella Versace‘s line Versus Versace that is dedicated to the young crowd presented its RTW Spring 2018 Collection during LFW. This time Donatella decided to celebrate the brand’s history. Versus Versace may look like a young brand, but Donatella claims there is a 20-year history behind this project. So the designer pulled certain things from the archive and transformed them into spring designs.
The red-fringed black Western jackets inspired by a logo that Gianni has created for a discontinued perfume is an element taken from the brand’s archive. Additionally, Donatella borrowed a Miami Beach car print from the archive and added it in her latest Versus collection. Spring 2018 Collection is all about celebrating the brand’s logo. Donatella knows her young crowd. She certainly knows that they love to pay tribute to the brands that help them express their unique personalities. You’ll see the brand’s name “Versus’ written all over the t-shirts and sweaters from the spring 2018 collection.
The Hadid sisters, the Jenners and more young influencers made the logo T-shirts a staple in their style. And other cool kids from the block adopted this piece of clothing in their everyday style. So Donatella Versace made sure she has enough of these for every day of the upcoming spring.
Surprisingly the pattern of choice was check. Most of us may think the checks are classic fall print. Donatella, on the other hand, knows her young consumer base doesn’t care about the rules.
“What I think of young people today, they dare to dare. They don’t want to blend in, they want to pop out in the crowd. But they don’t feel a need to be overdressed or overaccessorized – just to play with their personality and dare to express it,” the designer explained.
Versus Versace Spring 2018 Collection is all about sustainability. Donatella Versace proudly announced that her company has changed the denim manufacturing process. The production of denim is completely eco-friendly and emits nothing but purified water now.
At the end of the show, Donatella Versace stepped on the runway to take a bow in a cool outfit that carried the youthful Versus Versace vibe. As always the designer looked fabulous. And she proved once again why Versace is on the top for so many years. Not a single piece from the Versus Versace 2018 Spring collection looked like anything we have seen so far on the fashion weeks in New York and London.

The mega-popular British singer Zayn is officially part of the fashion world. The singer is dating one of the most influential It girls Gigi Hadid and most certainly he has to keep up with his better half when it comes to fashion. Zayn and Gigi are a true treat for our eyes when they appear together. They are probably one of the best-dressed celebrity couples both on the streets and the red carpet. Gigi already tried herself as a designer for clothing and accessories. Her collections for Tommy Hilfiger and the most recent capsule collection for Vogue Eyewear are very successful. Recently her boyfriend also stepped in the designer’s shoes and created a capsule collection for Versus Versace.
Gigi Hadid appeared in the promotional images of the campaign and in a cute video that Versace published on their Instagram profile where the model asks Zayn couple personal questions. We guess it’s just a matter of time when we will see Gigi rocking Zayn’s collection on the streets.

The mastermind behind Versace’s designs Donatella Versace is very proud of their collaboration.
“When I see this collection, I see Zayn. His attitude, his energy, and his individuality are in every single piece. I am so proud of what we have achieved together. “The campaign defines everything I love about the new generation today,” the designer said.
Zayn is a real style icon and there is no wonder why one of the most prestigious fashion houses in the world offered him to create a capsule collection. Together with Donatella Versace Zayn had a chance to create pieces that allow him to express his youthful spirit through clothing. The collection will also help Zayn to reach to all his fans that admire his unique style.
The singer was equally excited about the collaboration. Considering the fact that he grew up in a middle-class family, Zayn never expected that he would be the one to design a collection for Versace. In fact, he didn’t even believe that he would ever be able to afford their signature pieces. The 24-year old star described the collection as the coolest thing he has ever done.
“When I was a kid growing up in Bradford, England, wearing knock-off Versace, I never thought that one day I would actually be designing my own collection.”
The star of his campaign is the infamous sister of his girlfriend, Bella Hadid. On Saturday Zayn gave us a sneak peek of his collection for Versus Versace. On the pictures, we could see the gorgeous Bella Hadid wearing Zayn’s debut designs. He also shared a picture of himself wearing a military green jacket that definitely matches his signature style. He dyed his hair green to match the coat. The 24-year old singer’s collection is full of khaki green pieces as well as other designs in burgundy, black and white. Bella, on the other hand, was dressed in a sporty monochromatic purple outfit. To avoid confusion the famous singer added the hashtag #zaynxversus below the picture on Instagram.
The inspiration for the collection were Zayn and his friends. His goal was to make a collection that would represent the way his friends dress on the streets. The youthful edgy designs express the attitude of the streets and are a stylish mix of sports and functionality.
Zayn’s unique street style has a rock roll feel. The famous singer also added some rock n’ roll vibes to his debut designs for Versus Versace. Pieces such as the leather pants, skirt, dress, and jeans with lacing represent the old school part of the collection.
On the other hand, the bralettes, crop tops, bomber jacket and some coordinates represent the modern and cool athleisure side of the collection.
As for the men’s designs, Zayn’s classics such as cool bomber jackets, distressed denim jackets, t-shirts, and sweatshirts with unique prints are the most present pieces in the collection. The men’s collection also has some sports pieces for maximum comfort. The Men’s Active clothes are all black and white. They are also a couple of men’s accessories that feature patchwork that celebrates the label like the backpack bellow on the picture.
Since the collection has both men’s and women’s designs it’s just a matter of time when Gigi and Zayn will be spotted with twinning outfits on the streets.
